Let's define what drum circle spirit is...

A Community Drum Circle is a place for a person to express themselves through rhythm with a group of individuals agreeing to share the experience together. There are many types of Drum Circles, the hippie thunder drum circles, the ethno specific, meditation, healing, spiritual, beginners, intermediate, or my favorite the FACILITATED DRUM CIRCLE ! Hopefully all of the above mentioned Drum Circles invite the diverse individuals from today's society from the city, beach, urban, and suburban to the furthest country we could imagine!

The true drum circle spirit envolves, working together, not undermining, supporting the community, not glorifying ones self or talents. We band together to promote the good of the craft, and to enlighten the dispersed communities through the true nature of empowerment.

Group rhythm making evolves from the earliest times of man or woman, when we couldn't communicate verbally we grunted or banged something as a form of shared expression. That is a Drum Circle! When we join together in UNITY to express ourselves through another voice. Sometimes individuals need to let their voice be head, like creating art, playing drums, shakers, bells, etc. offers a therapeutic tool to every individual.

With the proper Facilitator, drum circles become a place for the individual and the group to experience rhythmical music. Rhythm is inside us all, from the first music we made with our mothers in the womb, our hearts beating in and out of rhythm 'til it became our own. Drumming excites the youngest to the old, I have yet to meet a person unwilling to try the drum.
